All-Ireland Championships
Introduction
The All-Ireland Championships are a series of ultimate competitions either hosted by the IFDA or sanctioned for club to host. Occuring on an annual basis, these competitions see the best club and school teams from across the island compete for the title of All-Ireland champions.
History
Following the success of the All-Ireland Mixed Championships in 2008, the first Schools, Schools Indoor and Open Championships took place in 2009. Each event was run by the IFDA (in association with a club) and all three were very successful. Full reports can be found on the News Section of this site.
Eligibility
All participants at a club, All-Ireland Championship sanctioned by the IFDA must meet the following criteria:
1. Membership- 1.1. Must be an individual (full, student or child) member of either:
- 1.1.1. the IFDA; or
- 1.1.2. their local governing body where that body has been approved for membership by the IFDA.

Divisions
So far we have been limited to three divisions, but with the constant growth in Womens Ultimate in Ireland, it won’t be long before there is a fourth division: All-Ireland Womens Championships.
Expansion
2010 sees the IFDA look to expand on the current format by introducing two more events to the calendar. In September the inaugural All-Ireland Beach Championships will see the best club teams take to the sand to battle it out. And, in December, the first All-Ireland Indoor Championships will take place. Venues for both of these new events will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Hosting
If you are interested in hosting any of the events listed in the calendar for this year, or in a future year, please review the Bid Outline document and contact the IFDA Tournament Coordinator. The IFDA are happy to work with any prospective hosts and thus look forward to hearing from you.
