Deep Cuts.
Number of players Min 6, no max
Number of Discs 1 per player
Set Up A thrower is positioned to one side of the pitch with all the discs. A cone is set up roughly 10m upfield and 20 to 25m towards the opposite side of the pitch for cutters. A line is marked roughly 25 to 30m upfield of the thrower with a cone marking the end of this line one third of the distance between the cutting cone and the thrower.
Iteration The player at the top of the cutting line fakes under and cuts deep. The thrower will either throw to the cutter for a complete pass or not. If the cutter reaches the line and the disc has not been thrown, they should either cut under towards the disc or under on the break side.
Notes When cutting, the receiver should stay between the two cones so as to give the thrower a big target area and so they will be in a position to go towards the disc regardless of it's flight path. If a player reaches the line and the disc is not thrown, they should cut under immediately and as fast, if not faster, than they cut deep.
Animation Three different iterations are shown. Player 1 cuts in a way to allow a big target area and then moves towards the disc once it is flight. Player 2 cuts wide and then, because the disc moves right, is able to run straight and catch the disc. Player three makes the same fakes and cuts as Players 1 and 2 but since the throw was not made, they cut back under on the open side for a big gain.
