Weekly Report 10/08/07

Hi All,

Not too much to report this week, just the small matter of the European Championships...

As I'm sure you're all aware by now, the two Irish teams did very well in Southampton last week. The open team finished in 6th position of 16, taking the notable scalps of Italy, France (twice) and the Danes along the way. The only teams to beat them were those that finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th (GB, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany, respectively). The women were slightly unlucky with how the draw worked out but still had a fantastic week, finishing in 10th after beating France, Russia, Latvia, Austria and Belgium. A full account of the week can be read on Marko's very well-kept blog: http://www.irelandeuc2007.blogspot.com/ .

Pickup this week is happening this Sunday in Herbert Park at 11.30am, more details can be found here: http://www.gogetforum.com/irishultimate-post-431.html#431 .

Cork Beach Hat is happening this weekend, it promises to be a fantastic tournament, visit the website for more details: http://corkbeach.uccultimate.com/ .

The very impressive Dub Tournie website has been launched, visit it at dub.irishultimate.com to find out more about the tournament.

Talk to you soon,

David Misstear
