Weekly report

Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well. A very busy weekend is in store for us, as Irish Open trials, the IFDA Christmas Party and Winter League are all taking place.

The second trial for the Irish open team is happening in Gonzaga on Saturday, from 11am-3pm (be there at 10.45 to be ready for 11). Bring water, lunch, boots, a disc, a green shirt and a white shirt.

A little bit later the IFDA Christmas Party shall get underway in the Turk's Head. More details will hopefully follow very shortly. Bring ID, your finest dancing shoes and enough money for a kebab in the Zaytoon across the road on the way home.

Sunday sees 'Winter League 2: The Return to Shankill' taking place in the customary wet and windy weather. No better way to shake off the post-Christmas party hangover. The timetable of the day's proceedings is as follows:

1:30pm Broccoli vs. DIT, Cork vs. TCD, DCU vs. Gonzaga

2.30pm DCU vs. UCD

2.45pm Broccoli vs. TCD, Cork vs. DIT

3:30pm UCD vs. Gonzaga

For all of you looking for a new way to waste time while in work, there is now an Irish Ultimate message board, which can be found at http://www.gogetforum.com/irishultimate"> face="Courier New" size=2> www.gogetforum.com/irishultimate size=2> .

It gives me great pleasure to announce the first annual (?) IFDA Photo of the Year competition, so if you think you have any pictures worthy of attention, please send them to ifdaphoto@gmail.com"> ifdaphoto@gmail.com . The winner will receive a blown up and framed copy of their photo, as well as the respect and admiration of all of Irish Ultimate. Get your entries in by 31st January. As with the late photo of the month competition, there will be two categories - game shots and party shots.

There is a photoshoot happening tomorrow morning (Thursday) in Ballyfermot for the Irish Independent, well done to Una Morrison for organising that. If you see this in time and are interested in helping out, contact her at 087 6935252.

Broccoli invites you all to a Friday night game on UCD's much-loved 'I can't believe it's not grass' pitch. Meet there at 8.30pm and bring a white shirt and boots.

Talk to you all soon,

David Misstear
