22 Feb. 2011 — Ballincollig Community School (Ballincollig) and Colaiste Choilm Secondary School competed in a short Ultimate blitz on Ballincollig’s Astroturf. Colaiste Choilm sent four teams to compete against Ballincollig’s three. Both schools have been training for the past four months and came into this with a long rivalry in sport which Colaiste Choilm has dominated for the past decade.

Cork Open returned this year with a bang, at the earlier date of September 18/19th. Due to exceptional weather conditions during the running of the event in 2009, the tournament was reduced in size to 14 teams. Not-Cork teams from all over the country descended to the southern capital for two days of great quality ultimate.
